The Institute of Group Analysis(London) and Group Analysis North have joined together to offer an integrated training in Group Analysis. The three courses offered, Introductory, Intermediate, and Qualifying, provide different levels of training and run together on ten block weekends in the year.

Brief Information about the Courses:
Introductory Course in Group Psychotherapy: This one year course is intended for professionals from many fields who are interested and involved in groups, including naturally occurring groups in their professional work. It is recognised by the Institute of Group Analysis and the Northwest Institute of Dynamic Psychotherapy as a prerequisite to their advanced training courses for qualification as a psychotherapist. (UKCP Registration). This course is also a prerequisite for the Intermediate Course in Group Psychotherapy and the IGA Qualifying Course in Group Analysis (Manchester). It is held on Friday afternoon and part of Saturday on ten weekends per year.
Intermediate Course in Group Psychotherapy: This course allows for further development of the experiences, ideas and skills acquired in the Introductory Course in Group Psychotherapy. It aims to support clinical practice and development as a group therapist. The course runs on ten block weekends and is integrated with the IGA Qualifying Course in Group Analysis.
IGA Qualifying Course in Group Analysis: In collaboration with the Institute of Group Analysis (London) GAN hosts a Qualifying Training Course leading to Membership of the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) and UKCP Registration. This training requires a minimum four years of ten weekend blocks a year. Personal therapy, theory and supervision are all included within the course.
